Ovarian Cysts and Fibroids
Ovarian cysts, Type II Pap Smear, uterine fibroids, painful periods, and other female reproductive complaints are thought to be hormonally driven, usually from excess estrogen and an under active thyroid. Balancing female hormones, strengthening the thyroid and adrenals, and internal cleansing are valuable alternative treatments.
In the book Women’s Herbs, Women’s Health written by Christopher Hobbs and Kathi Keville, they write: “Herbalists see fibroids and cysts as places where vital energy is stuck.” Use exercise such as yoga to strengthen the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual centers of the body.
Avoid coffee and other caffeinated beverages, chocolate, fatty foods, red meats, dairy products, simple starches and sugars.
Include fiber rich foods such as green leafy vegetables, seaweeds, carrots, whole grains, legumes, fish, and fruit in season.
