Insomnia

Sleep is invaluable to our physical and mental well being. Stress and anxiety seem to be a common thread in occasional sleeplessness. But there can be many other reasons including emotional upset, sudden loss, excessive worrying, a hyperactive mind, hormonal fluctuations, and sometimes even a tough day at work can cause sleeplessness. The following herbs and supplements can help to relax the mind and body and promote deep, restful sleep.

Relaxing hot bath: Add 1 cup Epsom Salts, which are rich in magnesium, to warm bath to help ease oneself into a restful sleep. Adding 5-10 drops Lavender essential oil to bath can enhance relaxation.*

Sleep in complete darkness: Blocking out light in the bedroom at night may help you sustain more of your natural melatonin production.
